Chairman of Nigeria’s largest Power Generation firm, Egbin Power Plc, Mr. Kola Adeshina, was on Saturday August 12, 2017 a year older, it was a moment that graciously surprised him in many aspects.
Born on August 12, 1964, Kola Adeshina’s disposition on his 53rd birthday anniversary testified clearly to a year of renewal, a year of growth, and a year of dignified grace in health and apperance. It was a year that has been meaningful in so many ways, personally, professionally and spiritually; a year pointing the way to the future and evolving how life could be more fruitful, productive and worthwhile.
Since the company acquired the asset under Adeshina’s leadership, Egbin Power Plc passion has been on constant upgrades in technology and investments in human capital development, keeping to the vision of lighting up Nigeria in line with its set objectives despite many challenges faced by the company. The staff in Egbin rank among the best in Africa when it comes to power generation. In fact, they remain the drivers of relentless quest for excellence and desire to redefine power generation on the continent. These meritorious and indelible milestones are uncommon feat worthy of commendation.
It is on record that the transformation at the nation’s largest generation plant commenced following its acquisition by Sahara Power, working through a number of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) in collaboration with its technical partners, KEPCO. The Sahara Power/KEPCO partnership has brought to Egbin, an unprecedented level of innovativeness, professionalism and continuing investment in new technology with tact and precision to excellence.
Impressively, Kola Adeshina has come a long way from a young man with dreams of instilling the culture of excellence into every facet of the average Nigerian’s life to exceeding those dreams and becoming one of the most outstanding entrepreneurs, dream builder and esteemed philanthropist Nigeria has ever produced. He was born like any other child; but very early in life, his confidence that greatness was achievable sat in his heart like a rock.
Today, after many years of ingenious investment decisions, Kola Adeshina’s legacies have proven to be difficult to equal. His achievements are numerous, but one which often comes to mind includes surprising detractors with his “can-do and no guts no glory” instincts as he made history by exhibiting rare progress in the country’s power generation. This has remained an enduring legacy. He is forever setting up rungs on the ladder of success for young people everywhere. What then, do you give a man who has time and time again proven that nothing is impossible with God, a man who has set records and surmounted them, and who continues to shine as a beacon of inspiration and role model to the young and old alike?
One thing that can not be taken away from this iconic brand is his “work life balance” lifestyle which over the years has left him with a flourishing and enviable marriage. Of course he is married to a genuine, caring, amiable and affable partner. Here is a man divinely connected and drawn to a woman who knows how to work with him and not against him.
Without contradiction, Mrs Mosunmola Adeshina is a quintessential soul mate with virtuous fulfilment and characteristics. All she knows how to do best is her ability to consistently reach out into her husband’s life and heart, by support and love and taking good care of the three wonderful kids the family is blessed with.
Birthdays mean a fresh start; a time for looking back with gratitude at the blessings of another year. It is also a time to look forward with renewed hope for bigger blessings. Happy birthday to an amazing personality, I wish you always to be so positive and to have so much courage for taking strong decisions.
Lots of luck to you as the world appreciates your helpful and motivating leadership. You are an excellent leader with a generous heart. May you have a long and successful career and as well find true bliss as you face your next milestones in life.
